Mr. Smith has more than 30 years of experience in the histology laboratory. He began as a histology technician in 1972 and supervised a major anatomic pathology laboratory from 1991-2000. Mr. Smith was instrumental in developing NephroPath's "same day" processing of specimens and is involved in the day-to-day operations of the laboratory.

Mr. Smith is the recipient of numerous awards and is the first author on six papers published in the field of histotechnology, contributing author on three others, and co-author of a technical workbook. He is a certified histotechnologist.
